Governance
The Ross Valley Paramedic Authority (RVPA) is a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between eight member agencies. Each of these agencies appoints a board member. The board elects a President and Vice President each year.
The Executive Officer is Marin County Fire Chief Jason Weber, who volunteers his time to serve as the administrator on behalf of the County of Marin.
The RVPA contracts with the County of Marin for Paramedic service, including management. A boundary drop agreement has been made with the Town of Corte Madera that allows for the closest ambulance to respond. In addition, several member fire departments now staff a paramedic on some fire engines to increase service levels, working with the ambulance staff.
The RVPA Stakeholder graphic shows the various partners and relationships involved in operating the service.
